Hmm..mm ..so far, not doing too bad on the gardening front. First brinjal flower peeking .....

And with lots of tender loving care, my star fruits are beginning to take on the sweet honey flavour as it should be ( it's the honey starfruit variety). Previously the fruits taste very acidic.

Wonder how's Meng How's fruit garden faring....

TANGERINE MARMALADE

There were so much mandarin oranges left over from the CNY, so i decided to make some marmalade. Verdict ? Delicious. Much better than pomelo marmalade as mandarin oranges do not have bitter pith.

The texture is smoother. The orangey colour is all natural.

OUR MASCOT - MISS NODDY

It had been dad's dream to take a driving tour of West Malaysia - just to visit the small towns and to taste the local cuisine. So, upon my retirement, we planned a Tour de Perak - just focusing on one state. Our journey and adventure was meticulously documented by dad in his blog.
Thanks to the kindness of my brother, we managed to see much of rural Perak. We plotted our destination and hotels, but in between the destinations, we were pretty free to wander anywhere. Thus we had the freedom to make any last minute turn and detour to any place that intrigued us. Kampung Koh, Batu Gajah, Menglembu, Pusing, Gopeng, Matang. We even passed Kamunting - the infamous ISA prison.
Special mention must be made of our mascot - Miss Noddy placed strategically on the dashboard of the Myvi. Why Miss Noddy? I first noticed her when she kept nodding her head when we were discussing our route. She seemed to agree with our plans. When we reached a bumpy stretch, she nodded her head excitedly. When I was half asleep, she was nodding her head gently - which made me even more sleepy. When we cracked a joke, she nodded and smiled with us. Such a pleasant mascot indeed. Thanks for the company !! Nod, nod, nod..........
The whole trip had been fun and relaxing as well as educational.
