We were in KL from 7-9 Dec. Dad had to attend a meeting and so Paul and I decided to tag along. All the major hotels were fully booked due to the coming ASEAN summit in KL. Fortunately we managed to get a room at Bintang Warisan. It is a budget hotel situated in the heart of KL – Jalan Bukit Bintang in fact. So while dad attended his marathon meeting, Paul and I shopped – more like window shopped. It was practically impossible to buy a decent outfit nowadays. Most of the items were garish, outlandish and horribly overpriced. What I observed was – as the materials for the outfits got smaller, the prices got higher!! I wanted to get some tees – they were either too short, too tight or too plunging necklines – nobody wants my kind of business anymore. Fortunately my neice, Lynna introduced me Dorothy Perkins – not too bad-lah! Lynna is working for a company that supplies or sources garments for Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Topshop and Topman.
I managed to meet up with my brothers and Paul met up with his boy cousins. As Ashley observed, it was almost like CNY atmosphere. We ate and talked – news to catch up – and the oohs and ahhs over how much the nieces and nephews have grown. Tai Tai is doing business studies at Metropolitan – one more year to go. Wan Wan has just finished UEC exams and will be joining National Service soon – wants to do something in Business Admin. Tow Tow also finished her UEC and is at the crossroads – cant decide what she wants – thinking of Mass Com. Ti Ti had his braces done. Lynna getting married in August next year. Suan has one more year to go before she graduates.
Dad was suffering from degenerative nerve and was in great pain. We decided to cut our stay short. The original plan was to spend the whole of Saturday with my brother. I fell down the steps in Lot 10 and sprained my ankle. So the 3 of us headed to the airport, one with head tilted to one side, one hobbling and dear Paul was our porter. What a sight we must have looked !!

Hey, the Medic GF is considered useful if available on the spot to provide physio or other treatment. heh...heh
Dorothy Perkins... a bit expensive eh? Actually I realise during the time I was living in SG and went up to KL every now and then with MH, shopping in SG is actually more rewarding, even with the exchange rate. Sigh. I need new clothes too...
