Principles of Good Civil Service

The 7 basic principles of good civil service are:
1) To work to upgrade quality of c.s
2) To work with sense of responsibility
3) To give friendly and courteous service, mindful of racial and religious sensitivities
4) To educate and enhance the thinking of the people (rakyaat) and national development
5) To avoid working for self-interest
6) To reduce weaknesses in the system and defeat enemies of the state
7) To hold fast to religious teachings

A good civil servant should always give dedicated and loyal service. Any action that is in conflict with national policies or actions that benefit other parties is deemed betrayal to the country.

A good c.s. should always work to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of his department. He should constantly upgrade himself through training, personal reading and holding discussions. Characteristics of an efficient worker :
i) Know all the aspects and rerquirements of his job
ii) Possess the skills necessary to carry out his job
ii) Possess the right attitude

It must be remembered that a person is not coerced in joining the c.s. The c.s is paid by the people and is accountable to the people. It is imperative that he should render his services with utmost responsiblity, dedication, and accountablity. ( Then all the expansion of the points and examples to back up etc...)
