EDUCATION BLUEPRINT AND TEAM BUILDING

Just back from Kundasang. Phew!! Am I exhausted after 3 days of brainstorming the Education Blueprint for our Institute. You see, the Ministry of Education has come up with a Masterplan for the nation's Education - what the nation need to do to achieve "world class education excellence". So we have to see what role our Institute can play to contribute to achieve this noble goal. To me, it's simple - Get the right people to run the relevant sectors. Anyway, the team selected was an enthusiastic bunch. To get the team to gel, we started with icebreaking and building of trust. Activities like 'Blind Man',(objective - bulding trust), Design an egg pouch ( Obj :- team work, creativity), Newspaper ( Obj:- co-operation) and the last one - Forming the longest line ever - was hilarious! To see how each group compete to form the longest line using whatever is available on their bodies - watches, shoes, shoe lace,belts and in desperation, the men tookmoff their tee-shirts - obj :- how far are you prepared to sacrifice for your group.) But it worked - later through out the session, the goodwill prevailed and the group was willing to work till the wee hours of the morning, just to complete their tasks.
