MAN VERSUS DOG

We've always been puzzled by Buddy's ability to free herself despite our efforts to tie her. Each time we had visitors, the maid would faithfully tie her up but everytime, inevitabily, Buddy would be at the door - free and grinning at us. It resulted in Joane Chew's slippers being chewed up, Esther Chong's shoes being hidden away and many other mysteries of hidden shoes.
By now you all would be familiar with dad's constant struggle to get Buddy tied up - it was as if a game between them - dad determined not to be defeated by the 'SMART ALECK' and Buddy determined to do a HOUDINI. Finally, yesterday, after sending Paul off, we went to a pet shop and got a harness....... "We'll see who wins this time ...... no way Buddy can wriggle out of this harness."

The harness costs RM 26.00 - a good investment

It was a struggle to harness Buddy - she just refused to co-operate
Finally we managed to get the harness in - double chained for insurance. Dad was triumphant

Meanwhile Toto looked away - not another fiasco.........

So dad went upstairs to take his bath. The maid looked amused by all the fuss and finally.... TA DA !! (Drum roll...) Buddy the Houdini is free again
Waiting patiently at the stairs for dad
Buddy, you must remember was the one who managed to survey the terrain of the house and found a way out of the fence when she was a puppy. ( I blogged about that earlier). Dad said she was an engineer in her previous life. She was also the one who trick our sympathies by hobbling to greet us until we realised that her hobbling chnaged from one foot to another. Then we said she must be a conman in her earlier life - now she did a HOUDINI. Man versus beast - guess the beast won after all.
At the time of writng, dad did 2 more rounds of chaining and harnessing Buddy - now he's given up. I can hear the maid giggling.......

So puzzling? How on earth did she manage to escape from the harness???

my final act was to tie her up with metal chain plus harness. Guess what, she was "laughing" outside our main door 20 min later ! I really give up !

How on earth did she manage to detach herself... I can see in the last photo that the harness strap itself is still attached to her body.

It's a mystery to us too. If we are looking at her - she would give us the 'classic grin'. But 10 minutes after our backs are turned, there she will - peering through the glass panel
