Since acquiring the pizza stone ( a gift from Rachel's mother), I decided to take my pizza making skill a notch higher. So while in Singapore, we scoured the shopping malls (kitchen section) for this equipment. It was harder than we thought. We went to Tangs, - nothing there. We went to ION shopping mall - nothing remotely there at all. We went to Takashimaya - Nope. Finally Sam remembered there was a bazaar-like street that sells all kind of kitchen equipment. Temple Street. So to Temple Street we headed. Oh, it was a mecca of all things kitchen. And lo and behold! We spotted our Pizza Peel - the last piece in the shop!
Dad was just as eager as I was to try out this piece of equipment. So he 'volunteered to slide the pizza in.
It was harder than we thought - for the dough stuck to the pizza peel like glue. After a bit of tweeking here and there, we finally figured it out. The trick was to sprinkle flour on to the base before placing the dough on to the peel.
So now we can slide the pizza on to the pizza stone effortlessly - like a professional! Viva la Italiano!!
