Was in Tawau yesterday(1st dec) to attend the officiating ceremony of the institute there. By sheer coincidence, dad was also in Tawau ( Semporna to be exact) to check on his project. We met at the airport. Some of the pengarahs were amazed to see me with 'a man' - until they realized it was my husband!!
The event in Tawau went off well. We even had a photo shot with the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and the Chief Minister of Sabah.
During the lunch reception, I was at the same table as a very young officer from the Indonesian Counsulate. (Konsul Muda - on my left). We had an interesting conversation comparing the education system in Indonesia and Malaysia. In many ways, I find the neighbouring country far ahead in teacher education in many aspects.
