This Harvest Festival break saw dad and I determined to pound the streets of Singapore to look out for the delicious food so often featured in AFC channel. So here's a diary of what we ate - not in chronological order. Sam took us to the famous "Keng Fish Head Steam Boat" - featured in AFC channel. It was simply delicious.
Then we had dinner at a Filipino restaurant called "7,107 Flavours" at the Marina Square- with reference to the many islands in the Phillipines. Loads of pork dishes.
The ambiance was good - cosy, and the staff friendly. Food probably 3 stars but service 4 stars.
The star choice was fried pork knuckles with crispy, crunchy skin.
Brunch was at an old chapel off the Dempsey area at Harding Road- renovated to a restaurant "The White Rabbit".
Certainly one had to enter the building via a 'rabbit-hole". We had pancakes, pasta and some kind of crumble. Food was so-so. A bit pricey, I feel

Afternnon tea at the "Toast Box" in Bugis Street. Very down-to-earth place. Just enjoy sipping our coffee and people-watching.
Of course, no visit to Singapore would be complete without visiting its nearly completed casino. The Marina Sands.
The buildings were a sight to behold. We observed the people gambling away - mostly Chinese from Indonesia and China. It was interesting to see that most people were losing their money - but yet so intent they were to to hit the jackpot that they kept on betting.
Sam's project is somewhere in the back - dwarfed by the 3 bigger towers. You can't see it cos it's only at level 3 - but it's nice to know it's somewhere there.
After all the leg work, it was time to sit back and relax at one of the lounges in the hotel. Sam had beer and we had some fancy cocktails
One of the places we had lunch - very nice place but the food was nothing to die for-lah. I can get better bao in KK
Of course, it wasn't all food. We visited some tourist spots like the museum, the Tekka market, the shopping malls........
Sam, in spite of his busy schedule, still managed to prepare his evening meals - healthy ones. His little garden is doing fine - Rosemary and Basil

7107 is at marina square and white rabbit is at harding rd. woot!
im suffering from PPDD!! sigh.
Dad too will be suffering from ppdd this coming monday when he's 'home alone' again.
So the parents visit results in the detox program being put on hold! ^_^
for the greater good of mankind... and his belly.
