We just couldn't wait to be in Penang. So it was with much anticipation and excitement when we reached the Penang bridge and drove into the heart of the city. What a crazy , chaotic town it was. There seemed no system at all. I think Penang's drivers are the most skillful in the world. 2-lane became 3 lanes and the drivers were adept at manoeuvring their vehicles at the tighest corners imaginable. I just prayed Hui Min's vehicle would not suffer any scratch as dad joined the Penang drivers' antics.
Finally we arrived at our lodge. Hutton Lodge of Hutton Lane. ( Recommended by Suanie) Ain't it grand? The lodge was an antiquity - an oasis of peace in the midst of the maddening traffic.
The rooms were clean. The facilities basic, but the service was good - for a B & B.
So began our tour of Penang's gastronomical delights. Desserts aplenty at Sugar Dynasty, which we chanced upon one night when we were strolling.

Road side stalls selling all kinds of fried stuff imaginable. If only we had stomachs of a camel but alas our stomachs could only hold so much. We returned each night to our lodge, with distended bellies.
